Game play:
1. Create a campaign.
- Press the create campaign button (all nations on main screen)
- Select a service
- If you are flying Allied and want to be an American, select the "American" check box.
- Allows transfer to American squadrons later in the war.
- Fill in the rest of the information - start with date
- If you change the date, recheck the information as things reset when the date is changed!
2. Create a mission.
- Press Mission from the campaign screen. You will go to the briefing screen.
- Edit the mission
- Waypoint locations
- Waypoint altitudes
- Pilots (press Pilot Selection)
- When you are finished, press Accept - PRESSING ACCEPT WRITES THE MISSION!
- No more edits are possible after pressing Accept.
- If you do not like the mission, press Scrub - you can do this even after accepting.
3. Looking around
- See an intel map with squadrons and aces on the Intel Map screen.
- See written intel on the Intelligence screen
- See the top aces at the time of your campaign in the Top Aces screen
- Press a pilot's name to see details on that pilot
- Go to Journal to see you journal entries
4. Changing your campaign
- Press Transfer to transfer to another unit.
- Transfers may be restricted.
- If you are a commanding officer you will not be allowed to transfer to a squadron commanded by an ace.
- You cannot transfer between services. Example: if you are in the RNAS you can't transfer to the RFC since one is Navy and the other is Army.
- In this example, when the RNAS and RFC merge to become the RAF then all squadrons are available.
- If you are an American, when America enters the war you now have the option to transfer to an American squadron.
- Once you transfer to an American squadron you cannot go back!
- Press Leave to take a leave.
- This simply advances time without flying a mission - i.e. you are on leave.
- Stuff happens while you are gone, historical and within your squadron.
- Read the reports to catch up on the latest when you return.
5. Fly the mission
- Start RoF and fly the mission. It will be under the "Missions" tab.
6. Submit a combat report.
- Start PWCG if it is not already running.
- Go to your campaign.
- Press Combat Report.
- Select the number of victories that you claim
- For each victory claimed, select the type
- Select the mission logs associated with the mission (they will be time stamped when you flew the mission)
- press Submit
7. Debrief
- Press Start debrief to get see what happened.
- Go forward or backwards using the buttons on the right.
- Complete the debrief when you are done.
- Transition to the reports page.
8. Reports
- Look at them as you like. They include the combat report, newpapers, etc.
- Enter your own commentary in the Narrative section of the combat report.
- These will be available when you press Journal in your campaign.
- press Finished when you are done.
9. Repeat steps 1-9 until the war ends :)
10. I want to delete campaigns
- It's a manual process - but a 10 second manual process.
- Go to ...yourInstall\RoFCampaign\campaigns and delete the campaign folder that you want to get rid of.
11. I want to get rid of old missions
- Go into the ...\Rise of Flight\data\missions folder and delete mission files starting with your pilot's name.
